Testing a PS?

I have a used 250 watt atx ps that is probably good, but not confirmed. However, I have no system suitable for testing it.

I suppose there is a path I could hardwire to at least see the fan operate. Got any suggestions? btw, I do have a digital multitester but basically I'll be satisfied that the thing is working if the fan fires up.

Thanks a lot guys, both interesting and informative sites! My intention was to be able to test this ps for a positive result before offering for sale with some other stuff, but I'm now leaning towards "as is" or just hold onto it until I can afford to build a cheap project pc
