testing a processor fan

I have a new motherboard and processor and have sold the old motherboard and am planning to sell the old processor but I am not sure if the fan works. Can it be tested using one of the fan connectors on the new board? The old processor is a Athlon 500 (Slot A), the motherboard is Abit K7-E (Socket A). I just wondered if the voltages are compatible.

yes it should work fine. generally all computer fans are 12v. the only exception is some wierd ass fans inside of psu's i've heard of that are 24v. but dont worry about that, it will work fine 🙂
