I am building a machine for a freind from spare parts. I recieved the case he wants to use as a group of parts that were just being junked. Most of the parts are good but just used and left overs. Is there anyway to tell if the power supply in the case is good? It puts out power, but how do I know if its flakey.

Only way i know of to find out is to test it in a system and see how it does.

Take all the power connectors and stick them on your tongue, then have your friend flip on the power. If you get the cr@p shocked out of you then the power supply works...LOL!!!

If you are still alive/not convinced by Stockjocks method, then try this.

P.S.
Don't use your tongue for stockjock's method - you don't know where those wires have been - use your cat's or dog's tongue instead.
:D

was thinking more along the lines of testing for flakyness. the supply puts out power and will push multiple fans.
