Testing a Dell 2407WFP-HC

Hi everyone!

My local Dell distributor agreed to let me test drive a 2407WFP-HC monitor before buying. I know that there's been a lot of fuzz abut this model regarding color banding, poor gradient performance and so on.

I'd like to know which is the best way to test this monitor and look for this flaws. If I don't like I can return it, no restocking fee or whatever. I just want to be sure I'm getting a quality unit.

Drawing gradients in Illustrator in various colors is what I thought about, but any tips will be appreciated.

How about just using the monitor as you normally would? Play your games, do your photoshop, surf, etc. And if you notice any problems, then return it. If not, then it's a good monitor.

Hmm please, post what your findings are here. I'm thinking of buying that monitor to replace my 17" CRT.
