test driving a Mazda or a Ford

I'm guessing Mazda's site was down earlier. Works now. Thanks.

PS: Looks like the Ford offer has changed.

So what can one expect doing this? Sales person knows you are in it just for the discount, so he/she doesn't care at all? High pressure sales, asking to run credit check before doing test drive?

I've never had a salesperson ask me to do a credit check before a test drive ever. I've had them ask to see and photocopy my license, which is reasonable (for insurance purposes).

Ironically I test drove several Mazdas and at least one Ford two weeks ago when I was in the market for a new car. Although I ended up buying something else the Mazdas are nice. Ford, OTOH, seems to be stuck in the 99.5% plastic interior phase they have been in since the seventies.

Aren't you the rebel lol...

Gonna try the Mazda test drive... my salesperson was telling me about that vehicle last time I was there, and I have to go there again in the next few days. May as well, test drive while I wait for my car.

Got my $50 Best Buy gift card today. I had mailed it in back in Jan. I got the $25 Circuit City e-gift card back in Feb. Thanks OP!

Actually a salesperson complying with state law, or being ethical. They don't photocopy your drivers license for theft reasons--they've got you on camera already with their security systems and their insurance would cover them regardless--they want your license TO do a credit check--which, by the way, causes a negative hit on your credit score. Usually they don't politely ask, they simply do...

But they all seem to be high pressure. Two years ago, I simply tired of the crap, misleading statements and outright lies, changed my mind and bought a used vehicle.

Sadly...the Ford deal seems gone...

It is for safety to keep the salesman from winding up dead, hurt or walking back after being booted out during the drive.

I actually got my $25 CC GC a while back, but still haven't found anything worth buying. Have shopped online and went into the B&M a couple times, but nothing of interest. Sad.
