edit: I think the car models are a bit too 'shiny' and because of that they don't blend in with the environments as well as they should, but other than that this game is just gorgeous!

Just a tidbit from the article. Combine an entire open island (no set tracks) with Live and custom accessories and its the ultimate overcompensating-man's fantasy--get to cruise around tryin to meet chicks!

For those that don't know, the graphics on this game are

a) Running on alpha kits with two 2.0ghz processors and not the triple 3.2ghz the final machine is running

b) this is a MMO racing game designed for hundreds of people. You can't expect insane graphics for something as large as this. Look at PGR3 screens for that. Now THOSE look rendered.

I mean the shots are pretty cool but it just seem SO much better than the current Xbox. Obviously this will improve as time goes on. Like... the SNES vs the NES big difference, or N64 vs SNES big difference, that's just what I was expecting. Plus there are a lot of jaggies

MSAA anti-aliasing isn't even on, as you can tell from the screenies. Those car models will clean up real nice when that's on I bet.

DITTO!!!! After seeing all the screenies/videos that have been release today/yesterday/etc.. I can't wait. I have never got a console on the release date, but I will def. Be picking up a Xbox360 from EB after I reserve mine!
