Terry Pratchett's Discworld - what order to read them in?

I liked Good Omens and the movies based on some of the books, but have not read any of the series.

Is publication date order the best way to read them? That's what I usually recommend for authors with a long-running series.

I knew I remembered seeing a suggestion like this someplace. Here's one:

I should point out that I haven't read any of the series either.

You could just read them in the order in which they were published :)

At least start with Rincewind's line, a lot of characters are introduced in that.

There's a list on the Terry Pratchett website that I followed. Just finished them a couple months ago, seems like a good order to go in.
