The "fear center" is also the "threat center". The idea of using that to criticize conservatives while praising the bigger "empathy" (gullibility?) center that liberals have is ridiculous.

How big do you think Seal Team 6's "fear centers" are? Probably bigger than anyone here.

They probably don't run around screaming in terror whenever they see a brown person. Look at spidey, he probably can't look at brown person in the eyes without wetting himself.

Don't mistake resolve and self preservation as fear. Like all other laws of nature you will do so at your own peril.

Is this the reason extreme righties don't have anyone to represent their "funny" views on TV in the form of comedians, shows, etc.?

Well they have Dennis "I used to be somewhat funny" Miller and that goofy show on late night on Faux News, neither of which are funny to anybody but righties.

This is only a test run if a succesful terrorist attack involving planes occurs in the near future...If none occurs, then it is just paranoia.

remember the old stories about immigrants coming to this country with 5 dollars in their pockets, the clothes on their backs, and dreams of a better life?

Now, read the story about Al-Murisi who carried no luggage, had $47 in his possession and didn't tell his relatives he was coming to San Francisco.

"Al-Murisi carried two postdated checks, one dated May 15 for $5,000 and the other dated June 20 for $8,000, Becker said. Besides that, he had only $47 and an Apple charger on him, and had no luggage, keys or cell phone, she said."

Terrorist Test Run?

Test run?

Trying to break into the cockpit while in flight sounds more like an actual attempt. I can't think of any reason for him to break into the cockpit other than trying to crash the plane.

Anyone who flies on a plane could be a terrorist? Really? Is that what I'm saying?

How about when someone bulls down the ailse of a plane yelling "Allahu Akbar" and tries to break down the cockpit door? I guess "logic," in your mind, is completely ignoring the facts of the situation?

Typically when we're told not to jump to conclusions, it means completely ignore non-pc items.

I think he tried to tone it down a little so as not to upset the progressives too much. He tried to plant a seed of doubt. I applaud him for understanding their tender natures.

For the rest of us, the intent was crystal clear.

I don't think he was heading for the cockpit in hopes of getting better pretzels than they serve in coach.

The man might suffer from Islam, and is mentally deranged (the two might go together), but as a lone wolf it'd be quite difficult to sell this as terrorism. More like bat !@#$ crazy.

Have you noticed that nary a single, erm, "progressive" in this thread has actually addressed what this guy did? It's as if it is impossible for them to even contemplate such a thing let alone post any sort of intelligent commentary about it. Like if they avoid talking about it then it didn't really happen.

Oddly enough they accuse others of residing in fear yet seem deathly afraid of recognizing this situation. You have to wonder who the real fearful ones truly are.

According to you, yes. "Mental nutjob" does not equal "terrorist", in the normal world at least. In your world, who knows?

Is this guy a possible terrorist too? Or since he is white, he's just a misguided drunk? He has no links to terrorist groups, it could be a test run as well!

He has no known links to terrorist groups, but you already say he might be one. Again, by that logic, anyone not linked to a terrorist group might be one. Do you always live in such fear? Guilty until proven innocent, that's the TLC way!

And BTW, "test runs" usually are done in secret, so the "real" run can work. Publicly doing what this guy tied would be the worlds dumbest "test run", kind of like assuming everyone is a terrorist.

Would you like to explain your logic that this is a "test run"?

Ahem, sane (left, right or middle) people don't need to address it. He broke the law and was stopped. He'll go to court and get tried before a judge or jury. Is there something worthy of discussion? It's called the US justice system, it's been in place for a long time. Perhaps you have heard of it?

The fearful ones are the ones crying wolf over terrorism (look in the mirror) at any chance. There have been three instances of this in the past month, are all "terrorist test runs"? OMG run for the hills! Better get down in your shelter in your basement.

You're mistaking defense for fear. Nobody is going to be able to pull that crap without passengers taking them down. Is that fear? Is it fear to be aware of your surroundings and situational awareness to be ready to act if need be? Somebody trying to get into a cockpit or cause harm yelling alah akbar is GOING to be dealt with. That's not fear, that's taking action against muslim terrorists.

No, fear is lefties saying "this isn't happening". A form of denial.

No, pulling out the terrorism card when there is no evidence is being scared. Which is what you, TLC and others have done.

The rest of us just move along, since this isn't a big deal.

Of course, if you or TLC have actual *evidence* indicating this was a supersekrit terrorist plot, feel free to post it, but just y'alls random hypothetical fantasies don't count.
