I think I know the response I am going to get here but I am going to ask anyways.

I am an atheist and I cut my lawn every Sunday during spring and summer. However, I prefer to live in peace in my neighborhood. Cutting grass on Sunday doesn't disrupt people going to church so I see no issue with it.

However, is it terribly rude to cut grass on Easter morning? I would say it is because families are trying to celebrate the holiday together that morning.

What say you?

EDIT:

So here is what I did. At 10:30am EST, I took a quick stroll around my block to check and see what was going on. I realized there was nothing going on so I took the 20 minutes it took to cut my backyard. Don't think I bothered anyone....

I wouldn't care. That said, church isn't very big here in Australia.

Depends on your neighborhood I guess.

It really depends if you have a body nailed on a cross or not while you mow the lawn.

I'd wait on it. People might be out doing Easter egg hunts and stuff. I think loud yard work shouldn't be on holidays, even minor ones.

This. Imagine the horror of shooting eggs through the lawn mower or hitting a bunny on Easter.

Well in this case, I would only be cutting my backyard(fenced). I wanted to get it cut short to remove the dog poop so that my son could play this afternoon back there.

I was out of town all week for work so I didn't have a chance to get it done.

So the risk to others is minimal :)

I say after 9am you're good regardless of religion or holidays.

We've got an asshole on our block that would fire up his lawn mower at 7am on Sunday mornings followed by an hour of the gas powered weed wacker and electric edger and finish it off with the leaf blower he uses to clear the trimmings off the sidewalks.

Evidently our 90 year old neighbor walked up to the street one morning and gave him a stern talking to. He's waited until 9am ever since :D

Personally, I think it should be held off at least til the afternoon. If I were taping my kids during the egg hunt and my neighbor was cutting his lawn, I'd be pissed. I mean, where's the common courtesy? But I don't know if any of your neighbors will be doing hunts or anything...

Our family always has easter celebrations in the afternoon so those that do go to church can go to it, then come eat at 1-2 and then hunt our pagan money filled plastic eggs.

So if you do it in the morning I cant imagine you will disturb anyone.

I don't see why cutting your lawn on any Sunday morning would be wrong. I see no problem with it whatsoever .. provided it's a reasonable hour.

I agree with most people. As long as you aren't disturbing others you're fine.

Yup. I would much prefer southern red state culture to the blue state stupidity of New York.

Take it to P&N buddy.

Also, I'd say mow the lawn on Sunday an hour later than you normally would, just to be polite. Some folks like sleeping in.
I have an old school push mower so noise is not an issue for me.

Waaaahh!! Someone mentioned something slightly political related to another reply.

The only thing that bothers me about my neighbors lawn mowing is that the POS emits a lot of smoke and it goes into my windows. It sucks waking up to the smell of diesel fuel in your room.

I'd wait. Being a good neighbor means that you should be reasonable even if you don't agree with your neighbors. If it's after 9:00 and there's nobody outside doing egg hunts I'd say you're ok to mow.

By stroll you mean stalking yes? Pics of the milfs in your neighborhood?
