I have a Hitachi VX900 19" monitor and a GE Force 2 MX card and on 800*600 or even 1024*768 I get a refresh of only 39khz/60hz This is really starting to hurt my eyes and give me a headache. I have tried uninstalling the monitor and video card and reinstalling them... tried different drivers for the video card but that was unsuccessful as well. Has anybody had the same problem with this before? Maybe its time for me to upgrade my video card? when I had the same setup under windows 98 it was much better like 85 hz at least, once I moved to windows 2000 it has been so terrible.

Well WIN2K doesn't go too good with Plug and Play monitors.

But this is easily fixed. You can go to display properties and set your monitors refresh rate manually to whatever is supported by your monitor and videocard. However, this still won't fix WIN2K's annoying desire to kick back to 60Hz when playing games. That's where this handy tool cleverly called the Windows 2000 nVidia Refresh Rate Fix comes in. I'm using it with a Hercules GeForce 2 MX, nVidia 12.00 DETS, and WIN2K SP1 with no troubles. Coolbits registry hack still works too. BTW, if you haven't tried them, the 12.00 Detonators work great. Haven't tried the official 12.40s yet. I'll wait until everyone's come to some conclusion about them.
