Terrible novelty clothes: Does anyone actually buy them?

This past weekend I was at the beach in Maine, there were a variety of crap tourist shops selling t-shirts and other articles of clothing with low brow jokes like "free c0ck to suck" with an arrow pointing down. Stuff that might make you smile once, but is just so offensive and short lived that it just plain shouldn't be on a t-shirt.

After seeing a pair of tighty whitey's with "world's largest source of natural gas" written on the ass of them...I had to question who would actually buy those? I mean, I'm sure they sell a few as gag gifts...but thats not enough to support the production of them is it?

That stuff is actually coming back into style. They're carrying them at all the trendy clothes stores now too.

But not STUPID stuff like that. The "trendy" stuff is sayings like "I dont kiss and tell" and "My boyfriend is out of town".... thats more sassy and such.

The stuff the OP is talking about is brutal low-brow humor usually sold at novelty stores and such. I think the what the OP fails to realize is the general and complete stupity of the majority of the populace.

*sigh* stupidity never goes out of style.

When I buy someone a gag gift, I don't expect the to use it. It's sole purpose is the shock value it has when first opened. :)

Along those lines, have you ever seen anybody wear a Tshirt Hell product in public? I mean those are damn funny, but I've yet to see any of them out on the street. (Except for "I bring nothing to the table.")
