terrible graphics corruption in Assassin's Creed 3

just tried to start playing AC3 today, it is giving me awful graphics corruption (see screenshot)

it is the only game doing this

i fixed the problem by switching anti aliasing from Very High to High

but I was hoping someone else with a 3gb AMD card can confirm this is a software issue and not hardware? i just want to make sure maybe a spot on my VRAM is bad or something

Lowering as also fixed that for me
