I got denied yesterday from a PNY 7800gt I bought off tigerdirect.com a $50.00 rebate through the company on-rebates. I sent it out and filled everything out perfect I even made a copy of what I sent out and they said the reason I was denied was because I didn't have a signiture, well I have proof I do and im trying to call them and argue with them but they keep giving me the run around saying its too late even though the rebate offer is good until the 10th. NEVER BUY from these companies again!

While not a hot deal, i do think it is valuable for these things to get posted. It reminds people of potential pitfalls. The title clearly states the intent, so there is an easy choice for anyone who doesn't like this sort of thing. Pass it by and look at something else. Is that so hard?

Yeah....i will never deal with TigerDirect anymore. I know what you mean by this. It's like a 50/50 shot with them. Some will say they never had a single problem with them(to those, i say great and i hope they will never have a bad experience) and those that have gotten a bad deal......take the loss this time and remember it for next)

That's how business is done in Miami, everyone should know that by now.

A brief summary of the posts here, or a review of their ratings at resellerratings, should have tipped one off to the fact that Tigerdirect has a long standing abysmal reputation as a scam artist regarding rebates. That is the main reason people ask that Tigerdirect be put in the heading for any hot deal from them-so it can be skipped over.

That said, I think they came out with some sort of rebate guarantee program a few months ago. Have you investigated that to see if it will help?

You should definately follow up with complaints to Better Business Bureau and your state's comsumer protection division in any event.

Indeed.

And everyone wonders why I bash TD. They are suck.

Many folks have had problems with Panacer's GEM display rebate including myself. Haven't taken any rebate offers seriously since.

To qualify for the TigerDirect Rebate Guarantee you must comply with the following:

1. Complete the attached rebate form and follow all the instructions that apply.
2. Submit the rebate via Postal Service: Certified Mail Return Receipt Requested by the required postmark date to the address on the rebate form.
3. Please make copies of all materials submitted:
* Rebate Form
* UPC, Barcode or Serial Number
* Invoice or Receipt
* Postal Tracking Information
In other words, TigerDirect Rebate Guarantee guarantees nothing.

Is the rebate tracking thread title clear too? How about the hot deals section title?

I've been a customer since 1997 or 1998 and have placed a couple dozen orders totalling several thousand dollars. Tiger has screwed up a couple of my orders, but I've never been hassled about a return and I've received all my rebates to my knowledge. Tiger even refunded my return shipping costs when the reason for the return was their screw up.

My account at OnRebate.com shows nine rebates redeemed totalling over $400, all deposited into my PayPal account. But then, I signed the rebate form before I mail them, right where it says "SIGNATURE REQUIRED" in bold letters. I think that is Step 3 of 3. lol!

Well, more like...

Actual long time customers of Tiger Direct: 1
Bandwagon jumpers who have never dealt with Tiger Direct: 10

This is a common theme on ATF (not knowing of what one speaks). Rampant, actually.

I don't but ANYTHING that involves a rebate. Rebates are always a scam, even if you do get paid, because the entire system is based on the premise that people are too lazy to send for the rebate on time and the company will not have to pay all of the rebates it would owe. If nobody went for the rebate deals, the companies would have to fins another way to compete, and we consumers would all be ahead.

I had this exact same thing happen to me, and it is misleading because of WHERE they want a signature. There are three sections. The first is a rather cut and dry thing with the address, etc. You don't even read it. The second section is the part that lists everything you have to do. There is no signature there at all. It is back in the first section.

It is B.S. because if you have done everything else, it is clear that you understand what you are doing and thus the signature is neither here nor there. In the U.S. any mark can constitute a signature as long as it is obvious that the signee understands what they are doing. I believe that everything else completed shows that we understood what was happening and that by placing the signature box outside of an area that details what is needed to be completed is unbelievable.

I am not an idiot by an means, yet I totally missed the signature part.

Has the BBB ever helped anyone before? Have they ever warned you prior to a problem before? I say skip them and figure out what district atty you should be going to. After a good faith effort to deal with them I say this is fraud and theft. Deal with them the same way as any street mugger. After a few fines and jail time these scumbags will either do rebates properly or just stop doing them. Personally I'm still waiting for the day one of these screw over companies are within driving range of me. It won't be pretty.
