Terrell Owens staying a 49er...

As someone pointed out he isn't for sure a 49er but it'll be a real pain in the ass now to get rid of him through a trade. If Garcia is gone he might be happy for at least 1 or 2 games with Rattay tossing to him. I don't think it'll help him not drop so many balls though.

He's still the best WR in the NFL. It amazes me how quickly people want to get rid of talent just because they have a big mouth. Who the hell cares. You guys don't want him? I can think of 30 other teams who do. I'd take him in Pittsburgh in a minute... as much as I love Plaxico Burress, seeing TO and Hines Ward as a starting WR pair would be sick.

TO's awesome at catching the short passes and breaking 230957 tackles on the way to the endzone. But he's never demonstrated consistency at catching the deep passes.

Consistency at dropping the deep passes? That he has *clearly* demonstrated!. =)

Cheers to the truth...maybe Randy Moss aside!

As a SF and Pittsburgh fan (grew up in N. Cal. moved to Pitt last summer) I can say I wish Pitt had TO and SF is lucky to keep him. Garcia is SF's problem...the guy does not see the field worth sh1t.

MY uncle has SF season tickets and an HD TV and he has told me numerous times that it is overwhelming evident, when watching Garcia at the Stadium and in HD (wide screen) that he misses open people, including TO, all the time. A lot of the receivers give up on routes because they are sure Garcia won't see them.

Garcia is overrated and needs to get shipped, regardless of what happens to TO. SF should draft Phillip Rivers, if they can.

yeah he will break a lot of takes and make an insane play, then drop 3 balls that hit him in the chest...

well at least he isnt with the eagles next year, i hate the eagles and the Mcnabb-TO combo would be insane

nice. either they toss garcia and keep owens or the other way around

or they could trade him .. but the article said his last 3 years are cheap.

they will trade him for sure!!
he doesnt want to stay and the Niners dont want him
so hes a goner

i hate to admit it, but in spite of TO's skills, he's a fricking headcase and needs to go.

the niners should unload jittery jeff garcia, too. steve young had the guts to wait in the pocket until his receivers got open - sure he got his bell rung, but he usually made spectacular completions, too. jittery jeff's too reliant on tossing short dumpoff passes.

I don't think that the 49ers don't necessarily want him, I think they didn't want to pay him the big bucks he would have demanded, and of course his attitude is HORRIBLE. If you ask me it would take a lot to trade a receiver as good and relatively cheap as TO for someone with similar talent in another area without added to your cap $. This coming from a guy who hates TO and the niners.

I think they might trade TO for picks in this year's talented Receiver rich draft. Because to keep TO would mean they need to shed another 2 million off to get under the cap. They owe him around 6 million for next season. My feeling is that the niners are gonna trade him and that the sounds of "Rebuilding" are coming. Which is great for niner haters.

If they don't trade him, he'll be an even bigger cancer to the team. Only reason to keep him is if they could get a solid QB to be his bitch.

i'm boycotting the niners next year. the only reason i'd watch the niners are for ..

Julian Peterson
Kevan Barlow
Brandon Lloyd

The niners could definitely get a high 1st draft pick for both TO and Garcia...maybe Arizona would be willing to deal for Garcia (I wouldn't).

The raiders might be willing to deal for TO...hmm.

Like I said before, were I GM for a day I'd trade Garcia and try to get one of the big three QB's (Rivers or Roth. -- Rivers most likely) ... maybe I'd need to deal TO to get a high enough draft pick.

If I have to deal TO (regardless of whether or not Garcia is traded), then I have to get a #1 WR in a trade, free agency, or the draft (fortunately, there are a lot of good one in the draft). In the draft, I'd be aiming for Fitz, Roy William, Mike Williams, or Lee Evans -- It is likely that only mike williams or Evans will be available after 8-10th pick. Brandon Lloyd looks pretty fast so maybe Williams will be a good match.

Also, niners need a good CB so maybe I try to get a Dunta Robinson, Will Poole, or one of the other good CB's in the draft. Just not chris gamble who is overrated...he is not fast enough to cover deep or on crossing routes.

The Niners should trade him for a bunch of future draft picks. They are going to suck for a couple of years as it is, why bother sucking with his bad attitude and big mouth.

The Raiders?? LOL, The Raiders have seen the last of their days as a powerhouse for a decade or two.
