Terratec DMX 6fire LT

Well, my SBLive is reaching the end of its usefulness. I have a SBLive mp3+ with the optional toslink converter to my stereo, but no matter what it's an analog converison. I was checking out the 6fire LT and it seems a good card for me. I do not have computer speakers, all my sound is output through my mains. My receiver, if it helps any, is a Yamaha RV-1105 5.1 system. Is this card a good upgrade option? I couldn't find the specs for the LT card, but here's the full card (with a bunch of recording options I do not need).

EDIT: I primarily want it for listening to music and the occasional PS DVD playback (at least once I get ny LCD HDTV 🙄 )

Hey a reply! I've come to notice some real problems with my SBLive solution. Having a lot of mp3s I've ripped from my CDs, I do enjoy putting a playlist together or random playing my collection. I call it my 4000+ song jukbox (actually, 3891 but I lost quite a few when one of my HDs failed). CD and DVD playback are not recognized as digital signals by my receiver. Well, first my video (I have a 32MB Rage Fury 2X AGP) then my sound. That should prepare me for my Springdale upgrade in the near future.

EDIT: Why do they have a SCSI controller in the recommended setup? I run a SCSI tree, so would I have benefites beyond what any IDE or ATA user will have?

It says UATA OR SCSI. Your storage subsystem has no bearing on sound unless you have ancient PIO drives that hog the bus. And the Live sucks for music. I think you'll be happy with an upgrade.

LOL. Well, I do BARELY meet recommended system specs (I o/c my PIII to 977 MHz now w/ 256MB of memory).
