Termite Control

Aside from calling a professional termite company, what can I do to stop the damage? They've started to eat some of the side gates and around the garage. I can see the little "seeds" (?) of black and dark beige where they attack. I dont' know if that's the wood or their eggs, but I need to stop them now.
