Really they should have let it go after T2, a gem of a first followed by an astounding sequel with total closure in the end as Arnold goes into the steel but nooo, they had to try to milk more out of it...

I guarandamntee you that Schwarzenneger put in maybe 5% of the effort compared to the director, editor, mixers, crew, etc.

Not that an actor's job isn't difficult, ....but this is Arnold we're talking about, and he is playing an automaton. Plus, he was padded for T3. I'm sure he worked his ass off for T1, gave T2 the 'ol college try, ...but T3? no way.

I do agree in the sense that his image is grounded into that franchise, that it's tough it's impossible to distinguish the two. But to label him as one of those that's doing all the work, for T3....

yeah, no. :p

the movie franchise is built on his iconic image as the terminator. If someones going to make money off of that, it might as well be him right? no ones saying he's doing all the work. its only special because mostly its management that reaps the profits in these things. the earnings on the franchise are probably in the billions now, in that context its nothing.

no, I said until Casino Royale came along.

what does that imply to you? :hmm:
yeah I was afraid you meant that....

Casino Royale was good for a Borne movie, a Bond movie it was not.

As far as Bond movies go there a many many better ones.

yeah, and that's exactly what I said. It has nothing to do with him working harder than anyone else, though, as you suggested. ;)

Of course, you also have to realize that it is always the studio's money. Without the studio--represented by management--these movies simply don't get made. They are the ones paying for everything in these type of productions, hiring the director, his crew, the talent. ...so why don't they deserve to hold on to royalties in the long term? Most top actors and directors already receive some percentage of box office and DVD anyway. That isn't new--this contract it totally bizarre, though. haha.

As far as Bond movies go there a many many better ones.

Craig's Bond is the first Bond that actually reflects Ian Flemming's interpretation of the character. The Bourne novels, and then movies, were simply an attempt to make "America's Bond."

What was done with Casino Royal was to rescue the original Bond from the depths of mediocrity that he had become.

What I like so much about OHMSS, is that it was the first Bond Film that allowed the character some actual depth. There's a real character arch (diluted as it may be), there's a man that faces an internal dilemma, who confronts how he has defined himself throughout his career and personal life. ....and for those that prefer the "film franchise version" that defined the Bond character, there is a harem in the Alps with a nutso Telly Savales. Really, what more do you want?

Honestly, for a "Bond film" my favorite is From Russia with Love, then probably Goldfinger. On Her Majesty's Secret Service, though, is the only one that is a complete film.

Though Casino Royal is easily as good as those. I tend to think it's better.

People liked Casino Royale? Seriously? The movie's highlight was watching Craig get his testicles tickled.
