Hi,

I've just received a extended version of T2 on DVD with all the goodies on it, including the extra uncut version of the movie with THX sound. The problem is that PowerDVD crashes each time i try to access this special version of the movie. The normal version of the movie (as shown in the cinema) doesn't have this problem.

But i want to see the extended version :(

Is it a known problem that PowerDVD 2.55 has problems with THX movies ?

My config :
- Athlon 700 & GeForce SDR & 6.27 drivers.

THX is a not a type of movie. It is simply a "seal of approval" from THX labs that the film meets their picture and sound quality criteria.

That being said, T2:UE uses seamless branching for the other two alternate cuts of the movie on the DVD. It looks like you need to upgrade your player to make it work properly with this feature.

It seems like PowerDVD is the culprit here. Friends of mine have also told the the same complaint about not being able to run the special edition of the movie on PowerDVD 2.55.

If you want a temporary workaround and you're running Win2k, run the DVD software player that win2k included. The file is dvdplay.exe if you search for it.

Thanks !!

So it is not the DVD player ??? It is a very old one... 2 speed from philips costs me only 30$ :)
I'll try WinDVD first ! Is it any good ? coz i like the 5.1 to 4 speaker translation from PowerDVD very much !!

It sounds so much beter if the sound is all around you.. especially with THIS MOVIE !! It still kick ass after all those years !
