Terminally bored idea.

So here I am, bored at work, and I come up with the thought:
The PSTwo and it's power supply are about the same shape and slightly thinner and shorter depth than the original Playstation. Can a Playstation be modded to take PSTwo internals?

Discuss.

PS.: Insomnia rocks.

Having worked inside the PS2, I can say that the hardest time you'd have would be modifying the CD reader assembly to fit centered in the case, and also to be able to read properly, but at this point we're talking actually taking the assembly apart and rearranging things on a very minute scale. Highly complicated if not impossible. If the PSI reader assembly can properly draw the data from PS2 discs, then I suppose it would then just be a matter of convering the adapters from the reading assembly to the main circuit board.

Dont know but I velcro'd my slim ps2 to the lid of my 15"laptop, got a USB tvtuner and have a somewhat portable PS2/LT system.

We're talking about the newer top loading PSTwo. Not the larger PS2. The reader would remain inplace on the PSTwo and just be positioned where the Playstation's reader was and the Playstation's cover would take the place of the PSTwo's cover.

Yeah, it's sexiness. It's smaller than the average laptop and weighs only a couple of pounds.

probably 1 inch high, 8 or 9 inches wide, and only an inch thicker than a CD 🙂
