Terminal Server

I have Terminal Server connected to a mmachine on my 100Mbps networl through a swtich and it works fine. I will be moving it to a remote location soon, but for the mean time it will remain here.

My questions it this: Is there anyway to make the connection faster? I have messed with all the options, but I can't it to run live...is there a way...this will be irrelevant when I access it through a WAN route(internet) but can i make it faster over muy private network...?

Registry hacks anyone?

What do you mean you can't run it live? I've used TS across the Internet and it was fine speed wise, if you really need it you could purchase Citrix Metaframe which uses a faster protocol among other things.

The biggest factor when running Terminal services or any other remote control application is the latency between the host and client. If your pings get too high you will start to notice lag between when you think you are doing someting and when it really happens. Bandwidth on the other hand is not nearly as important. I have connected to a terminal server over a 56k modem and the speed was acceptible in my opinion but there was some lag due to the pings being above 200ms. Now, it is not as fast as broadband connection but is was usable.

I in fact find that TS are not that bandwidth hogging apps.

It should work fine even with less than 56k upload.

You might want to decrease the size of your TS to try improve speed. However, I can never see how you can be any faster when operating through LAN.
