PC@ work------>TSweb service to my wesite----->to my home gateway and a certain pc------->running XP--->running VMware(win2k)


I am acutally running VMware right now to take care of a win2k-only program.......😎

citrix is nice when it works, but hell when it doesn't. two words that ruin my mornings: print spooler 🙁

Remote Desktop Connection in XP is just the Terminal Server client built into the OS. if you have to do server maintenance, it makes life sooo much easier. well, that and a VPN connection from home. 🙂
 
xp remote connect is the sh!t, i have it runnin on my pc thats in the dorm and i can connect to my pc from any pc on campus really fast because its all on the campus network, its gonna suck when i move to a house nex yr and have to settle for comcast

yes...XP version not as feature rich--but works just fine.


i also <3 RDP & TSWeb. VNC/TightVNC/RealVNC has nothing on it.
 
the RDP client/server in XP and Windows Server 2003 are the same except in XP when you remote in , it closes the console, you can't have the remote session and console session simultaneous, well maybe you can if you do that remote assist thingy, i haven't tried that
 
Have had it on Windows 2000 servers for years here.. I just installed a 2003 a few weeks ago and am trying it out.. supposed to be abit better, it works great, but it did before too 😉
 
It's especially nice when you're a consultant, working for multiple clients, which have 2000 servers and xP desktops. There are some days when I don't even have to leave the house, unless there are hardware or connectivity issues 😀

hmm... in Server 2003,

when I remote in with the same user name, it still lock the console session,

it seems you can't have the remote session and console session simultaneously under same user, unlike VNC.

am I doing anything wrong, or is this the limitation of RDP ?
