Terminal issue and quicktime troubles

I am trying to do something in terminal and when I enter the command it asks me to enter my password but I do not have a user account password. When I hit enter without entering anything it just asks for the password again.


I tried going to apple.com/trailers to watch some trailers and I get a quicktime logo with a question mark, but I can hear sound
 
What OS? What version of Safari? Is everything up to date?

Put a password on your user account, then see if after you remove it, you can still use that password for sudo
