Interesting turn of events. Needless to say she didn't say that directly, but as this article shows how her comments have been interpreted and are getting traction that way....

Wow, typical garbage. Not only did she not say what is in your title, that was hardly a story, it was some forum or low budget blog. I'm sure the right will run with it if it's true, but it's hardly relevant in the campaign.

Same place where John Corsi, co author of swift boat book, disgraced himself with his bigotry.

My thread title mirrors the title of the linked article, me repeating the article title doesn't mean I endorse its contents.

While I mostly agree on your assessment of "hardly a story and not relevant to the campaign," this isn't a forum of, by, and for the Kerry campaign, it's about general politics and news. You may disagree with the way the story was written or its conclusion, but that doesn't make it unworthy of being mentioned here. And I don't care whether the right will attempt to run with it or not, their efforts are not my concern.

This is absurd. If this is the kind of thing that the friendly folks at freerepublic.com choose to spin their wheels on, I say God bless 'em!

I can't really see that it matters. It purports to be a Times Online quote from Reader's Digest, and if they actually printed this I tend to believe she said it. The article's link to timesonline.co.uk doesn't work for me.

The thing is, in context her statement is akin to saying no human is qualified to be God. She's just saying no one person is singlehandedly qualified to, in her words, "run the world." It's not as though she said he was less qualified than some other person.

Some of the comments after that article are friggin' hilarious.

Oh and before all you lefties interrupt your circle jerk to make a comment, I think the stuff on the democratic underground is hilarious too.

That's a valid stance when the title is from a news site, not a blog/forum.
