From the manual (linked on the buy.com page) - "Ethernet jack
This jack is for connection to a Local Area Network,
for uploading or downloading of MP3 tracks in a
network. This function is not available yet, and will
be activated via an upgrade provided in the future."

sk3tch,

Thanks! I missed that. Since it's no longer listed on the Terapin site, I imagine they won't be developing this feature. But if it's popular enough, I'm sure someone will hack the firmware... and at $100 for a dual-tray burner, I imagine it will be...

I called Terapin for clarification and the tech guy was unable to give me any more info on when (or whether) that jack would ever be implemented. Since Terapin is the product arm of a Singapore-based company (whose name I can't get at the moment because I can't seem to contact their website) I assume the decision will be left up to the parent company.

Too bad - I'm looking for ethernet-based MP3 players; other companies offer hardware clients for $100 but this is the only one that comes with drives.
