I heard on the news this morning that Mr. King has been arrested a meager 30 times since his rewarding of what was it...8 million dollars?

Of course not. Who ever heard of protesting racial politics by stealing TV's? It was pure dirtbag opportunism...plain and simple.

Thanks!

I wonder if Aetna is trying to deduct their L.A. ?uprising? casualty losses from that slavery reparations lawsuit?

Dang, has it been 10 years already?

I grew up in Orange County--well-removed from any of the violence--but there was a big concentration of Koreans at my grade school and every day, someone would come in saying their parents'/aunt's/counsin's/church friend's store had been damaged...It was a very sad time for a lot of my 11-year-old friends and their families :(

Nope...It was just the straw that broke the camel's back...there was ill will going between different groups--split by race and/or money--and people knew that something was gonna happen for years

Yep, saw a story on Rodney the other day. He's been arrested numerous times since then and is now "living" in a drug rehab center at the insistence of the county.

Had dinner with friends at the Torrance Red Lobster on the 2nd night of the burning and looting. We understood that Torrance PD was not going to let those LA folks get in town. Some fool was trying to (crow bar) bust through the Signal Hill (PriceClub)CostCo late one night and a cop just shooed the guy away saying, "They're closed. Come back tomorrow." I remember the live footage of looting and 'customer's' were hauling stuff off going up to the TV camera saying hey honey or mom I got you so and so. A motorcycle cop stopped in the middle of all the action and drew his service revolver but didn't make an arrest. Really not much he could do. Those darn fools burned down their own communities. I understand that not one McDonald's was touched.

Some time after the riots, some AA girl at work made some serious crack about rioting in Torrance. My buddy who lives in Torrance stopped her cold, "Make sure you're in front when you get up my driveway."

The title of this thread rules! LMAO! Sounds like a Big-City version of "Boot Scootin' Boogie." (That's a Hillbilly-Texan-Bubba-Girl dance, for those of you not tormented by country music...)
