Bascily im thinking about hosting a lan out side in a large tent. what are your views on this keep in mind i live in the uk so heat issnt a problem.

sounds like a lot of fun, but I can see it getting expensive.

you'd most likely need some kind of enclosed tent (glare) as well as getting power.

Just don't forget the open bar!

From my experience, some things are just better done indoors (eating, playing concerts). Outside you have to worry about wind if there's more than a little of it, uneven or soft ground than will make tables tip over, bugs pestering everyone, allergies for some people, etc. And of course, power might be troublesome.
It does sound pretty novel otherwise, and a lot of people will probably show up just for the fun of it. Some might be turned off by the inherent problems, but I suppose there's a chance you'll get a dedicated group who would do it again.

Bugs getting into the systems, wires getting dirty, temperature issues, if doing it in a residential area someone might complain that you guys were getting loud. Another factor is that one would have to have their shoes on all the time (comfort).

Be sure to include sunscreen. A lot of the guys attending probably haven't seen much sun, and will burn like babies.

Personally I recommend SmartShield. Bullfrog works well if you cant find SmartShield.
