depends on the context...

are you talking about the thing you use to hit a tennis ball or the sounds that are created when people play tennis?

Bah, stole my post.

"Racquet" if the former and "racket" if the latter IMO.

In the USA it's spelled RACKET in any sense of the word, a webbed ball hitting contraption, a commotion, or an illegal enterprise.

QU spelling are for queers, Euro/Canadians, and those who favor redundancy over humor.

"racket" is noise that a bunch of ne'er-do-well youngsters make.

"raquet" is what you play tennis with.

I play racquetball, which is most certainly spelled with a Q. Never seen anyone refer to "racketball." So naturally I spell the thing you use to hit the ball "racquet," not "racket."

The correct answer is you can spell it either way. Usually outside of America you'll see racquet. But there are always exceptions.

I was going to ask if he meant the thing you hit the ball with or the gambling scam that uses the game of tennis ...

I chose racquet, although other than in this post I don't think I have ever typed or written
racquet before.
