This is definitely one of my top 3 favorite animes of all time. It was non-stop action with great characters and the dialogue was ridiculous at times but it fit right in. The names they used for the attacks were also out there, but that made it that much better.

The art was awesome and I liked the mid-episode break, even if it was only for a few seconds, as it was always new drawings that summed up the episodes, or at least foreshadowed what was coming. I also very much liked the opening theme song and the intro.

Basically, what I'm saying is this is an amazing anime...the only part that really annoyed me was the ending...if you've seen it then you know what I'm talking about, if not, prepare for a let down.

Just a heads up to those who may enjoy anime but haven't gotten around to seeing it, or if you've seen it and just needed to be reminded of the greatness that it is.

I thought it was too over the top, especially with all the power-ups and ridiculous costumes towards the end. However, I did enjoy the ending, and it was a fun watch if only for the animation and energy of the show.

This has a pretty hilarious spoof of the show towards the end of the episode. The whole episode is pretty funny actually.

Yeah, it wasn't really an anime I took at face value, it was a more type of 'fun' anime if anything, however the basic plot was interesting if nothing else. Also, I found out yesterday that they're making a movie for it that's slated for release in Japan in September. I don't know why I like it so much honestly, I've seen many other anime with much more engaging plots and intriguing characters...it must just be what you said, the energy of the show itself...or Yoko.

TTGL was a fun ride, I don't see how a person couldn't enjoy it unless they go in expecting real physics and/or an OMG DEEP plot.

CottonRabbit: Power-ups and general ridiculousness are the point, that's why they call it super robot. ;)

It's also supposed to start airing on Sci-Fi channel in July.

AniMonday I think. I'd assume it will be showing during the Monday anime block, but I'm not 100% sure.

It would make sense, since I saw Macross Plus playing last Monday...I guess we'll see. Thanks for the heads up...although I can't say I'm a fan of the dub.

Will Sci-Fi be showing the sub or dub? I haven't really heard much other than it will be airing on Sci-Fi, but I also haven't really been keeping up with it either, so it's possible there was some announcement I missed.

Also, is there a preview of the dub available?

That's a good question, considering that apparently the dubbed DVD won't be out until next year (from what I've read), however, here is saying that it might be possible it's dubbed by then...the truth is nobody knows for sure...IMHO I'd be surprised if they subbed the episodes, but I wouldn't mind at all :D

IIRC scifi used to show subbed anime years ago on saturdays

TTGL was pretty awsome IMO

Yeah I just saw the first music clip just a little while ago, sure is an odd spin on things. I also just recently discovered they're making 2 movies since I guess fitting 26 episodes into one movie is a bit much...but apparently a lot of the footage is gonna be new, so we'll see.
