The only basis that the US had for the invasion of Iraq was the defense of the US. This defense was stated as the exigent condition where by Iraq was about to attack the US or its possessions. The notion of WMD was simply dressing... but, the exigent circumstance must be shown to have existed otherwise the US violated the UN Charter and International Law...
So far... I've not seen anything with which such an attack could have occurred. The exigent circumstance has yet to be shown even remotely feasible... Who is lying or dribble over reports and such is nice to explore and may provide a window into some of this but, it won't create the vehicle with which Iraq was about to launch its attack that required immediate intervention by the US in its defense...
