Tenet Takes The Fall

The only basis that the US had for the invasion of Iraq was the defense of the US. This defense was stated as the exigent condition where by Iraq was about to attack the US or its possessions. The notion of WMD was simply dressing... but, the exigent circumstance must be shown to have existed otherwise the US violated the UN Charter and International Law...

So far... I've not seen anything with which such an attack could have occurred. The exigent circumstance has yet to be shown even remotely feasible... Who is lying or dribble over reports and such is nice to explore and may provide a window into some of this but, it won't create the vehicle with which Iraq was about to launch its attack that required immediate intervention by the US in its defense...

Everyone knows the CIA was pressured to "come up" with evidence to help Bush get his war. Tenet is the fall guy in this situation.

The CIA is very powerful. Bush should play it smart and not make enemies with them. We all saw what happened to JFK.

I wouldn't go that far.

It would be interesting if a few CIA insiders, angry about seeing their boss screwed and their agency tarnished, decided to offer up all the gory details of what Bush and his minions knew and denied and demanded. Oh yeah, I mean more than they already have for the last year.
