Tempurpedic Mattress -> worth the cost?

i have numerous upper back/neck muscular issues, wake up and feel like i had the sh!t beat out of me while i slepped. have tried many different types of beds and now moving onto one of these. what are your experinces with them?

We just recently decided to put off the purchase of one temporarily and got a wonderful feather pillow topper. It was like heaven for the first couple weeks.

Now, I roll over and get stabbed with feathers... I'm think we should have gotten the mattress instead.

Also, there's a long thread in hot deals about memory foam... search for it and check it out. Plus, you may get more for less by going with a different brand than Tempurpedic... research it.

I like mine. I got a good deal on it, as my g/f at the time was able to get them at cost through work. Otherwise I probably would have checked out the other name brands. Latex foam in particular is supposed to be a nice alternative to it.

i heard those matresses are only 3 inches of "memory foam" and the rest is regular mattress

not worth it imo, they feel like a softer futon when i was looking at one at the bedding store

when we looked at one they are like 9-12" tall and felt like foam all the way through

IIRC, PlatinumGold recommends latex foam matresses.

I bought a one inch topper from overstock for $30ish and my sleep is remarkably better.
I'm going for the two incher when it goes on sale

I'd go with a Select Comfort Sleep Number bed. We've had one for 5+ years or so and it's great.
