Tempuratures for Dual Core 4200+

Hey,
I just got my new AMD Dual Core 4200+ and I was just curious what a decent tempurature should be on it? It's currently running at about 42 degrees (celcius) when it's idle. Is this normal? It's just alot hotter than my old processor was.

Thanks!

depending on the temperature in your room, my 4800 idles at around 34, but its snowing here in upstate new york and my window is open

My 4400 idles at 43 and tops out at 63 under dual instances of Prime95--even after installing the new AMD 4 pipe HSF. Under normal workloads it can hit 53, so I guess it's a bit warmer than most, maybe like yours.

One of three things could be going on: The Heat Spreader was not installed correctly; my motherboard is not reporting the temps properly; it's really that hot. Take your pick. 🙂

oh ok, i'll have to take the tempurature of my room. right now outside it's around 0... i think it's something like 20 degrees in my room.
