Well it's Christmas, and my parents have agreed to get me a nice mattress (to replace the 15 year old one that I've had since I was 6). So I'm looking at the low-mid end models of the sleep number (3000-5000) and the tempur-pedic (original or advantage).
Size I'm looking for is a twin long, so I can't go much higher anyway. Personally I like a firm mattress with minimal padding (I'm right at home on the dorm mattress with an egg carton pad). As to why I don't just buy a dorm mattress with an egg carton pad, I know there are better things out there and I want it to last.
All of the reviews Google has turned up have been pretty binary, and in the case of the sleep number mostly negative. However I have 3 relatives that swear by the sleep number, so I'll take their word. No one I know uses tempur-pedic.
Anyone here have any experience with either?
