Tempted to buy Plasma TV + BluRay Player Bundle

I bought a 32" LCD HDTV a few months ago as a gaming TV and was quite pleased with it, but I knew that down the line, I'll have to buy a larger TV, maybe around 50" Plasma 1080p to serve as my all purpose Movie/Viewing TV. Today, I found on Amazon.com that had a sick looking bundle that seems almost too good to be true for $1239.03 packaged together, so I'd like to ask all of your opinions on the bundle, the TV, and the BluRay player.

TV: Panasonic Viera TH-50PZ80U 50-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV at $1283.94 (36% off from List Price)
BluRay Player: Panasonic DMP-BD35K 1080p Blu-ray Player at $244.20 (19% off from List Price)
Free Shipping

Is there something I am missing about the TV or BluRay player? It seems like it's a really nice bundle... they're basically paying you $60 to take the BluRay player with the Plasma TV.

For $1200, that's a pretty dang good bundle. The TV is nice and so is the Blu-ray player. Have you seen the TV is person?

Not yet, I just found the bundle today while surfing the web. I may head into a Best Buy or Circuit City store today or tomorrow to see if they have it on display to check it out.

That's an awesome deal. Just the TV at that price would be a good deal. With Amazon's awesome return policy and white-glove delivery and a free BD player, it's even better. Do you know how long the deal will last? It would suck to miss it.

Amazon also has Samsung TV + basically free Samsung Blu-Ray bundles ($200 off the $205 P1500). Through today only, tho.

So tempted to pull the trigger, just wondering if 50" 1080p Plasmas prices will be dropping soon in the future due to bad economy.

If they DO drop, I doubt it will be to a price so low that you will regret purchasing it. $1200 is pretty dang cheap for a quality 50" 1080p plasma. Not to mention the Blu-ray player that is being thrown in.

this is what im starting to think as time goes on. it's not gonna be a ridiculous difference from prices we're seeing today

I'm also very tempted to buy that bundle or another slightly better bundle (the 50PZ85U). I've done ample research, and both TVs are highly rated in that price range. Price-wise, this offer should be very tough to beat and I doubt we'll see (much) better deals on Black Friday.

I was about to checkout, then I noticed the "Usually ships in 1 to 2 months" line which Jugernot mentioned. I rarely make purchases on Amazon so now I'm wondering: is this usually accurate, or are they simply covering their behinds? What can I expect for actual delivery time? And can I cancel my order as long as it hasn't been delivered yet? If so I might just order and see if I find better deals.

@grifterspawn: Are you sure you picked the TV that is directly sold by Amazon? This deal is not available if you go through one of their resellers, which is the case by default for some reason. Thinking about this...that might be the reason for this amazing deal: Amazon has 1-2 months delay, whereas the resellers have the TV in stock, so they're trying to push customers to use their direct services.

There use to be a to be a lot more TVs available from Amazon.com, but it looks like they're sold out so you can only see ones available from other vendors. The TV I linked is out of stock from Amazon.com.

I myself was too late, after deciding to buy, when I went back the TV to buy directly from Amazon.com was out of stock. I'm partly regretting not making a decision earlier though another part is okay with missing this deal since I can wait and see where the HDTV price trend is going post Black Friday.

Grifterspawn: That was the one I picked too but it's out of stock from Amazon.com, only third party vendors have them now and I don't like buying from them because Amazon.com offers free White Glove Delivery and for some people, no tax.

Except the P1500 heats up like someone lit a fire under it.

this.

that is a great price for a quality TV. I got my 42" Samsung 720 plasma for 999 at BB two years ago on BF. as far as price dropping, it was still selling for about 1200-1400 more than a year later.

That Panasonic is a much better set.

Probably good price on the BD player, though I'm not sure if that model is 2.0 complaint. someone here would know...

EDIT: says BD live, so it should be GTG. I'd jump on that if I were you.

So any idea whether 1-2 months is generally accurate? That's a long time to wait...
