Temps too LOW

I just got a new opteron 144 and the temps reported by the bios and everest seem way too low. They report at 25C idle and about 30 load. The ambient temp is 25C.

I don't think there's any way the cpu has temps that low, so i'm assuming the diode is messed up. Is there any way to fix it or artificially raise the temp reading several degrees?

No, wait...
LOL 😛

What mobo do you have? It's perfectly possible that it tells a temp that's way too low... Don't worry about it though... Your CPU will be around 30°C idle and 45°C load, if you use a stock cooler...

You could try an old thermometre (non-digital) and measure the temps by touching the backside of your motherboard, where the CPU sits... Touching your heatsink as low as possible with it is a possibility too...

EDIT: It can be fixed with a BIOS update, so make sure you have the most recent ones...

It's a DFI ultra-d. I'm gonna check for a bios update now, maybe that will work.

I'm using a si-120 to cool it, but i don't think it should be registering ambient temps on the cpu.
