I've overclocked this system to 2.4 Ghz. I just installed Smart Fan 2 on a ThermalRight SLK-700 and thought I had it setup so I could adjust the rmp, but the dial doesn't make any difference. But maybe I need it running at 4800 rmp all the time. I just finished playing about 30 minutes of UT Tournament 2003 and the temps maxed at about 53c, which seems a little high for this setup. Right now it reads 41c. Something wrong here that I'm missing? Thanks!

You can only use the temp probe OR the reostat, not both at the same time. I prefer to use the probe, I put the end in either the CPU hs, or against one of the ram chips on the video card. Then when you play UT2003, you'll hear the fan speed ramp up.

Hey, Pspada! Good to hear from you again. You probably dont remember, but you helped me out a ton a few months ago with a screwy mobo.

Right now, Im only using the reostat... I thought. I don't have the temp prob plugged in. With the reostat plugged in, the other connector has a jumper on it, correct?

Anyway, I dont mind the fan on full. With Hardward Dr, I can see the rmp's right around 4800. I thought this would keep UT 2003 under 50c??

No, you don't want the other connector jumpered, that enables the temp probe, even though you don't have it connected.

I found that the FartSman II actually cooled better at a lower speed (~3600) than at it's highest speed. However that could only relate to the airflow specific to my case.

It's nice to "speak" to you again, I've been so busy that I've not had as much time to post lately.

Aaaallrighty then, I'll lose the jumper, try to pin point ~3800~, see what melts.
thanks
