I don't know, but I'm doing a SiSoft test on my CPU because it's been lagging up lately. I know I don't have virii, but at the same time... it's the SLOWEST computer out there. My Rig is in Sig. AXP1700+, Epox 8KHA+, 256DDR.

So you think my fan is casuing the slowdown? (Or the effective CPU slowdown, hence system slowdown).. should I just get a new fan, It's the same one for like... 2 years now.

As for the performance,
it's the ram.

i built both mine and my bro's PC. Exactly same specs, XP 1700+ but my bro's have 256 ram and mine have 512... It's a world of difference. As the numbers obviously show, 512 has 200% working capacity than 256... With XP, there are no room for spare RAM with 256..

upgrade it, it's the ram. I wouldn't consider my XP1700+ slow at all.. it's glides like an eagle..

It is a bit high, but the official crack temp for AMD is ~90+ C

most user settable emergency cuttoff temps have 70c as the lowest possible cuttoff.

66c can make your room uncomfortable but it is not processor damaging. You may look at lowering the voltage if you can that can help alot.
