Temps be damned...I stilll like my case!

I purchased a pre-owned LL V1000B a while back. Even though I heard horrow stories about its inverted style & lack of airflow, I still liked the looks of the case. I was even happier when I received it & saw the quality of construction.
I've tried several cases since owning it...always trying to get slightly lower temps. I've tried the P180B, a Stacker 830, Sonata III, & most recently a CM Storm Sniper.
All those cases were OK, but to me they still weren't the quality of my LL & weren't that much better as far as having lower temps.
Anybody else have a case that they were just GA-GA about & hung on to?

Nope - I have the opposite problem. The smallest things bother me over time with whatever current case I'm using, and I upgrade without any real basis it. Right now, I want to swap my P182 SE, which is a gorgeous case, out for something with better air flow. Before that, I swapped my Thermaltake Kandalf LCS (decent air flow and easy to water cool) for the P182 simply because it was too heavy (~70-80 lbs when completely full, versus about 45-50 for the P182).

I believe the ABS ("Aplus") Black Pearl is essentially a Lian-Li V1000 series case with some extras. It's also significantly cheaper - $100 on Newegg right now: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16811215010. Maybe you can pick one of those up and mod it for better air flow?

I actually like the size of my case.
The Sniper, it seems, was too big. I kept smacking it with my knee. It supposedly had good airflow, but like I said, my temps are virtually the same. So if it had such good airflow & cooling capabilities, then I suppose my V1000B does too, yes?

I'm in love with my case because of the front-panel design (tasteful and yet not too obtrusive) and the 250mm fan on the side (AWESOME for airflow). Unfortunately the side fan doesn't let me install a full 120mm tower cooler, but I like it so much that I deal with it.

That's similar to the way I am. This particular LL is so simple, yet so stylish. It's so well constructed & easy to work on. I'm going to replace the side panel window & probably install a 140mm instead of the current 120mm fan, however. No problems w/my Megahalem that's installed in it. 🙂

God, I so want that Black Pearl, but cant find it here in NZ. I saw the best water cooled BP awhile ago and just loved the cool blue it was with the water cooling....
