Temps are about 5degrees C higher when overclocked. Does that sound right?

This is my first overclock so I'm all worried about temps but am not sure if I should be or not

under 100% load overclocked I'm getting 64-65C not overclocked i'm getting 58-59C.

I'm going to Fry's to buy some thermal compound and a better sink and fan. Think that will help? Should I be worried about these temps?

System specs are
P4 2.4c overclocked to 3.12ghz at default voltage
Retail sink, fan, and thermal pad.

Sounds about right, you might actually do a speed test (something like sisoft sandra - CPU test) at both speeds while running Prime95 (in order to keep it hot). This way you can see if the additional heat is causing your processor to throttle and negate any benefit from the overclock.

A new heatsink and thermal compound will help (if you get a better heatsink than what it comes with). I also recommend that you make sure you get decent case cooling too (at least one case fan drawing out at the back by the processor and maybe one at the front drawing air in).
