i had a p5ne-sli board that i am returning so i installed the same chip/ram etc on a p5b-deluxe.
everything is running fine, i got my oc up to the same digits, but the cpu is running much hotter. they are both at the same voltages which reads the same in speedfan and asus probe, however, when i use orthos my temp jumps 10C in just a few seconds on the p5b. it also idles 4 degrees hotter and is almost 10 degrees hotter under load. on the p5ne it would go up a couple degrees at a time not an instant jump. plus it would run cooler.
this is compared to my cpu the first day on the p5n-e sli before as5 had a chance to cure.
airflow in the case did not change. i even ran the fans higher than before and it didnt do much.
i took my mobo out and made sure the ninja was on well. i used the same amount of as5.
specs are e6400, ocz plat. rev. 2 pc6400, antec p180.
i checked temps in speedfan, asusprobe and core temp. they all give me the same result.
so which board is right? or are they both right?
