Yeah, I just installed mine last night, and it took me almost an hour! Go ahead, laugh away funny boy. My fat fingers couldn't fit around it to push in and twist at the same time. I am pleased with it's performance though, 5c lower (than stock) Idle temp. Sits at 35c, and when I used Orthos blend last night for an hour, the highest temp was 49c.

EDIT: I haven't started OC'ing yet, due to the fact I need to update my BIOS (current version 0302). Stupid "Asus Update" is worthless!

I agreee, there is not much clearance to push the pegs down. but you should only need to twist if you are taking it out. To install, turn the pins to the locked position with the heatsink in your hand (not in the case) then put the bottom of the pins in the holes then just push down each one. But it is a total bitch to remove because then you have to twist and push (to get them to turn and release). Also, I found it much easier putting the fan on after the heatsink was seated and the pins were all locked. YMMV.

Scythe Infinity + C2D E6600 at 3.3ghz @1.475 vcore = <30 normal and <37 during torture. (ambient runs about 17-18)

I have a scythe infinity on a C2D E6700. Works like a charm, the stock fan is silent. I bet this would work as a passive cooler if you had a decent case. I ended up with "scythe'd fingers" as well. LOL I have my chip oc'd to 3.4ghz on stock voltage. Temps idle in the high 20's low 30's. During dual prime temp doesn't go over 45'C with coretemp. Other than the installation, which isn't that bad. I give this cooler a 10 outta 10. It is definatly one of the best air coolers, can't get much better unless you goto water. just my 2cents

I noticed some complaints earlier in the thread about the mounting system. There are some instructions on the XS forum that explain how to mount with screws. It makes for a much easier install and removal cycle, and it is VERY secure. I'm glad I did it! (Use the 1 1/2 inch screws, not the 2 inch ones).

I'm very happy with my infinity except for the fact that I had to dremel it to fit on my P5W DH motherboard.

If you are worried about warping just suspend the heatsync from the top of the case to take the weight off the motherboard. I just used a bit of wire hooked over the top of the heat pipes and attached to the top of my case, took 5 minutes. Now no warping and a better connection (as the top of the heatsync isn't being levered off the cpu by it's own weight).
