What exactly are you trying to do? Are you trying to delete those temp internet files?

If so, disk cleanup in Accessories should do the trick...

Windows Temporary Internet Files is not an actual file.. It appears to be but isn't.. You can run the disk cleanup to remove most of the file but not all..

windows temp file is an actual file - hosts.sam
even after you manually delete the cookie contents
in internet explorer (under tools>option>etc),
permanent remnants remain and accumulate in
the windows hosts file. these files can
serve to compromise your 'puter's security
by certain spy progs that dial their mothership
to report on your surfing habits.

278 mgs ! wow. damn. purge that now !
a large hosts file can result in
degredations to system performance and
slow connections.
read this link for more hosts info:
http://accs-net.com/hosts/faq.html

try this prog to help with the cleaning:
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/zeus/cleanup/CleanUp11.exe

an even better program, and argueably the best
forensic uber-cleaner on the market, is a shareware
prog called evidence eliminator. nothing i know of
performs a better industrial disinfection against
any file type, regardless how hidden or small, that
could prove , shall we say, 'incriminating'.

www.evidenceeliminator.com ;)

Another trick I use, is the old "Dosshell" program from DOS 5 and up, I have it on a floppy for browsing my files in after I boot into DOS, works great for search and destroy of unwanted windows files.
