I don't buy into the poorly built US car thing anymore. Except for GM that is. They have proven time and again that they will skimp on quality and all kinds of issues will pop up eventually. I trust GM trucks but that's it. Ford is a great company on the other hand.

my GF at the time pulled the exterior door handle off my 2005 cobalt while opening it. And before you say behemoth whatver she was a 110 lb dripping wet dance major. She nearly lost her shit crying/apologizing for it but I was laughing my ass off the whole time.

It was a drop in the bucket for the myriad of shit that broke on that POS.

I think all domestic car companies have made a lot of progress in the last 10 years. Ford has done better than most. But in my opinion, they're still far behind Honda/Toyota.

Additionally, the model lineups of domestic car brands are uninteresting and the designs are generic looking. They're just living in the past redoing these "retro" designs because their normal models are bland.

I got away from Honda because they were so generic. My wife will drive nothing but a honda though. I can't blame her. Her 08 civic has been bullet proof since we bought it new. Her next car will be a honda no doubt. I actually bought a fiesta ST because it is one of the best hot hatchbacks on the road. The only cool car honda has is the civic SI and even it is meh these days. More show than go. Toyota and Honda are like appliances. I wanted something with character. Something different with some personality. I found that with the ST.
