Hey all-
Loving this new phone, but I have dropped enough of them to know you have to have a sturdy case and screen protector on your leased device these days or you're playing with fire. I've gotten a great case (Caseology Wavelength) for it, but the tempered glass protector I ordered, in it's shipped state, will not fit, so for now I my screen is still unprotected. I tried one of the "get wet first, slide it on, squeegee out the bubbles" protectors, designed for the phone in a case, but it was such a royal pain to get on that I tossed it. The Spigen glass protector I had on my S5 was excellent, but alas, the one they make for this phone does not get good ratings at all. So, does anyone who has the S7 Edge have it cased and screen protected? What combo worked for you? Many thanks.

Curved glass phones simply will have trouble with tempered glass screen protectors. You'll have to learn to apply a plastic one (wet ones will adhere better but feel worse in general).

Yeah, I can see that. The glass protector and case will not play nice, so the case stay and the glass goes.I'm OK with soft protectors, so long as a) they don't impede screen sensitivity, and b) are not of the "damp when applied" kind. Any suggestions are welcome.

You seem to be hating on the best stuff. Learn to use polyurethane skins, everything else just sucks.

Not hate, just frustration. I just got an offer of a free replacement from the BestSkinEver folks, so I'll give that another go. This may be my last smartphone, so I want to keep it in excellent condition. Not having screen protection (even with Gorilla Glass 4) makes me nervous. Any other skin type protectors you all can recommend? It seems like you need to get both from the same maker to ensure compatibiltiy, and Caseology doesn't make a protector for the Edge yet.

I use an armor suit skin on my S7e. Be liberal with the spray - you won't hurt the phone at all. Slide and reposition the skin and hold it in place as the spray dries. What I did was continuously smooth down the edges until they stayed in place. It took about 45 minutes to an hour to do it right and you will still have bubbles and rainbows, but they will work out over time. It's definitely NOT for somebody who is easily frustrated or has no patience.

Edit: I don't use a case anymore - they're universally hideous and the skin makes the phone grippy enough that I can't drop it.

Or...can go fully enclosed in chic leather: https://www.amazon.com/Galaxy-Desig...coding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=VFT9040X062FH23JVGJE

It's what I did. Yes, it's a little extra effort to open the mag latch and answer the phone or read a text, but it's an executive case, so can have your executive assistant perform that task. ;-)

The good thing about this design is that the screen is protected and the cover flap is a handy camera grip when shooting executive mockumentary footage. The other benefit is that because it's no longer a glance and glare phone - I get to spend more time not reading useless texts and posts. Less social noise is one of the perks of executive life it seems.
