I ran prime95 last night and when i checked my temperatures with MBM this morning, the high temperatures were through the roof! 40ºC case and 63ºC cpu. i raised the fsb by only 3-5 mhz to bring my p4 2.8 to 3.06. also, i swapped the stock heatsink with a slk-800u. i'm usin as3 as interface. is it high because the as3 hasnt set yet? or what else might be the problem? thank you for reading!

did u run prime95 after installing the SLK800 and AS3? Does your thermalright even have a fan on it? is 63degrees the temp of the cpu while still running prim95 or after you finished, shut down ur pc, waited 30min then restarted?

edit: 63 should be ok for ur pc after a nights work. the spec temp limit is 75. it only becomes a problem when your cpu is idling at 63degrees for a very long time

yes, i ran prime95 after installing my HSF. i have a 80mm coolermaster rifle bearing fan on it for sound reasons....
i idle at about 42ºC. the reason why im iono....worried(?) is that this temp is about 10ºF higher than my stock heatsink! im guessing becuz the SLK doesnt touch the whole surface of the heat-spreading thing on the cpu.

nope, im using a p4p800 non-deluxe.
