Temperature variations? Normal?

CPU is an Opteron 185 with a ZeroTherm BTF90 cooler.

Idle temps:
Core 1: 39C (average)
Core 2: 31C (average)

Load:
Core 1: 55C (average)
Core 2: 42C (average)

Is it normal for the cores to have that wide of a temperature difference? I'm running stock clock (2.6GHz) and voltage (1.35v) The case is a Cooler Master RC690.

That's a bit high for a delta. They should usually be within 4-5c

Remove your heatsink, is the TIM spread evenly? Reapply and remount

That cooler is about 650g, maybe the weight is causing it to tilt slightly away from one core. Turn your desktop on its side so the motherboard is parallel to the floor/desk and see what the temps do

I set the case on its side and checked, no difference. Then I turned the cooler around with the case still on its, no difference.

This isn't effecting the operation of the CPU in any way and even though one side is higher I'm ok with the temp range, it's just strange to me there would be that big of a difference.

Thanks for the tips.
