on load it won't change anything, however at idle it will have the os issue halt and stop commands thus idling the cpu. I think you will notice 5-10 degrees C cooler temps.

that has been reported and discussed here long time ago :) works only in idle, the change register "62" from "B3" to "B7" seems to take away a few frames in 3D games. That was reported in other forums, don't ask me where. The same "tweak" is included in the Asus Probe, or in other CPU cooling software. :)

depends, if you are 7/24 on and your machine is a lot in idle, you can decrease of course the system temp quite a lot. But for the normal user, who has his machine basically never in idle, I doubt it has much use. :)

I think it might increase the life duration of yer sys, uless you're playing/working/serving/whatever 24/24-7/7
or do I misunderstand the thing .. is this also reducing temp when you're long away (e.g sleeping ...) or does my &quot;sleep&quot; and powersave functions take care of that ?
