Temperature offset for Abit KT7A mobo?

What kind of temperature offset are people using for their Abit KT7A mobo? I use MotherBoard Probe for checking the temperature. I've never been able to get MotherBoard Monitor to read the CPU temp.

what kind of offset do you need? If anything, you'd likely need to adjust up ward to represent true "core" temp.

Any offset to match "bios" temps is probably incorrect, since BIOS' temps are often neither in full load nor full idle... its hard to tell, but usualy they're 50-75% load, so comparing windows temps to these is difficult, if not impossible.

Mike, I'm wondering how much I need to adjust up the CPU sensor reading to make it more accurate. I know there's always a discrepancy and I'm wondering if there is any known average for the Abit. I have the latest BIOS installed.

unfortunately, there's a tons of "unknowns' and there is no known offset. Everything from ambient case temp, airflow, what your current readings are, the cotnact with the CPU back, whether or not you put a bit of grease on the thermistor tip, and even heatsink airflow mess with this "offset".... It could potentially be 3-12C off, depending on the above conditions, or possibly more 🙁

Thanks for the info, Mike. I checked out your site too and that answered my question even more completely.
