Temperature of Intel E6600

I have a new system that looks like this :
P5B Deluxe WiFi
Intel E6600 with original heatsink
Kingston PC4300 2GB
Antec Sonata II with its PSU (450W) and its original fan (set on medium speed)

My system is not overclocked in any way, shape or form.

I'm using ASUS Q Fan and let it determine the speed of the CPU fan (setting is Performance). The speed never goes above 1,000 rpm, though.

I was working yesterday on Photoshop and the temperature of the CPU quickly reached 50C and that of the motherboard 45C. I'm surprised, as this seems pretty high to me (but I'm definitely a newbie). I know that Intel says the E6600 is OK until 55C but, really, I was not pushing the CPU.

What do you think ? Should I disable Q Fan and leave with the stronger noise ?

Thanks for your opinion.

Actually, 60.1C is the threshold, not 55C.

55C for a full load temperature would actually not be bad at all. If you were doing heavy Photoshop work (such as filters) you may well have been loading it pretty hard.
