Temperature of Athlon processor and motherboard

If you are talking about temps as reported by motherboard bios, then it does depend on whether you have an asus board or not. Asus boards will report temps about 8c higher.

My tbird 1.1@1.2 on a Biostar KT133 Mobo.

38c idle
45c load
23c system
22c avg room temp

with recent high temps and avg room temp of 80f or 27c

40c idle
25c system

Also depends on state of case cooling...make sure you have minimum of 2 case fans...one intake one exhaust and shoot for a few degrees above ambient room temperature.

My personal rule is if

a) Bios reports it at < 60C
b) it makes it through a 24 hour prime95 run with no crashes
c) is generally stable

The temp is fine 😉

Ofcourse do all of that with all the pieces you want in, in...Adding several drives, agp and pci cards can add up to the theraml gain of the case and thus cause cpu HSF to use warmer air to cool cpu and thus do it ineffectively...

True to say that ultimate temperature guide is stability...
