Temperature monitoring programs

I have an M2N-SLI Deluxe & was wondering whether to use all the various software that came with it or just download Speedfan or Motherboard Monitor.
Is most of the software that comes with motherboards unnecessary?

Just posted this in a different thread.

It depends on what temperature you want. It can come either from the outer sensor or inner chip thermal diode. So the temperatures will be obviously different.

I'm using both Gigabyte EasyTune and Core Temp and they show completely different measurements. Core Temp uses inner sensor and works for both cores.

Yep, Core Temp will read about 15C higher than EasyTune.
